Michael Le Back in 2019, rumors of another Skepta x Nike collaboration boiled to the surface — this time atop the Air Max Tailwind V, one of the brand’s most recent revivals at the time. But as 2020 came and went, there was little in the way of a release or even an announcement. The pair was only revealed by insiders and offered by eBay sellers.
Similar to the options prior, the colorway reproduces the same black and red scheme, one likely adored by the Grime artist himself. Over top, bits of chrome are adorned onto the side profile in the shape of a Swoosh, adding bling in tandem with the matching metallic counter. Black polished overlays then lay adjacent, wrapping the red synthetic in a fashion reminiscent of the Air Max Plus, the silhouette known to be prevalent throughout the UK and Europe scenes. Elsewhere, the branding is rather light as the partnership’s signature “SK AIR” emblem rests only along the tongue and insole.
