Jovani Hernandez NIKE, Inc.’s yet-to-be-announced “City Special” collection has recently added a vibrantly-colored Nike Air Max 97 commemorating Los Angeles to its roster.
Akin to a previously-seen taxi-reminiscent Air Max 95, the forthcoming pair indulges in a mostly-tonal arrangement. Corduroy, canvas and synthetic leather paneling partake in a bold orange color scheme that ostensibly nods to the California city’s sunny reputation. Swoosh logos and pull tabs throughout the upper deliver stark black contrast, as does the “LA”-branded label on the lateral heel. Underfoot, the full-length Air Max unit boasts the same vibrant hue that takes over the 24-year-old design’s top-half.
