Nike’s “City Special” collection is making some observable moves to push the brand’s lesser-loved silhouettes. It seems that each city will have not just one but two celebrations, the second dressed atop models like the Vapormax Plus and the Air Max Up.
While the former nods to Atlanta, the latter brings it back to New York City, arriving in a look quite similar to Lady Liberty herself. The monument’s signature green tint washes all over the entire ripstop upper as well as the colored taping, lace unit, and heel. Only at the lining and midsole do neutrals come into play, as white touches up each fixture for slight contrast. The pair, then, begins to celebrate NYC more overtly, with white, cursive text along the side and some gilded dubraes up front.
For a detailed look at these, see below. A release is likely to hit Nike.com on Feb. 26th.
In other news, it looks like the adidas Yeezy Boost v3 could be on its way.
