The New Balance X-Racer Trail — often dubbed the XRCT — first released at the peak of the outdoors trend, when IG accounts like organiclab.zip saw their most exponential growth. And though many have taken their money to retro runners like the 327 and P550, there’s still a sizable market looking to grab further colorways of the utility-driven silhouette. And today, the Boston-based footwear is offering just that with the brand new “Phantom.”
Though its namesake teases a brooding and visually dark undertaking, the pair is actually a rather typical outdoors shoe. Brown, almost purple-pigmented panels dress the toe cap and heel, while dark black suedes and diamond-patterned synthetics add versatility adjacent. The N logo, which hits the side in two layers of paint, stacks red over white in complement to the outsole’s decals and the cosmetic embellishments that touch up the forefoot and lace unit. Elsewhere, for a bit of extra color, dark blues dye the tongue’s mesh and the webbing attached at its side.

In other news, Yeezy 700 V3 Kyanite is releasing later this March.
