As NIKE, Inc. begins to share the contents of its Air Max Day celebration, the North American sportswear behemoth has delivered official images of a new addition to the revolutionary line: the Nike Air Max Genome.
While not unlike anything the brand has produced in its 57 year history, the forthcoming silhouette delivers a refreshing look given the current sneaker market’s notable affinity for chunky shoes. Although the Air Max Genome’s cushioning proposition isn’t thin, its full-length, LeBron 8-reminiscent airbag keeps the midsole from simply being a robust block of foam as is the case with some competitors’ options. A mix of mesh, perforated leather and synthetic paneling across the upper also proffer a makeup akin to forward-thinking designs that’ve previously emerged in the Air Max lineup (2012’s flagship model comes to mind). As has become customary of several models utilizing visible Air-cushioning, outsoles feature some waffle-pattern tread, but pair it with tooling ostensibly borrowed from the Free Run family.
Enjoy official images of three launch colorways here below, and expect the Air Max Genome to hit Nike.com before March ends.
Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, the Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” is set to return on April 10th.
