The New Balance X-Racer Trail “Virtual Sky” Is Available Now

Although New Balance doesn’t seem interested in completely redefining itself, it’s taken the last few years to introduce new designs into its portfolio. Case in point: the X-Racer Trail, a model the brand touts as a “go anywhere, do anything” shoe.

Debuted with the help of Bodega, the rugged proposition maintains an outdoors-ready color palette. Instead of a blend of purple and earth tones, however, the latest take features “Virtual Sky” and “Pink” accents atop its understated ABZORB midsole. Neon green also enters the mix around the tongue, and is somewhat reminiscent of Salehe Bembury’s forthcoming New Balance 2002R “Water”. Layered “N” logos at the mid-foot, “NB” branding on the lateral forefoot and trail-ready tread underfoot further indulge in vibrant “Pink” flair.
