The New Balance X-Racer Trail debuted with the help of Bodega, but it’s taken on a life of its own since June 2020. For its latest proposition, the silhouette has upped the utility ante, donning two stow-away pockets on its profiles.
Set to arrive in three colorways, the model maintains its durable and high-quality build. White, black and tan take over most of each respective pair’s upper, with the former two hues appearing in a rather tonal fashion. New Balance branding on the lateral mid-foot has been moved to the heel, being replaced by a functional pocket; medial collars also don the same compartment, but are accompanied by a zippered counterpart incorporated right into the mid-foot. Pull tabs on the heel have been reworked with extra loops, which will surely prove useful to those with abundant carabiners. Underfoot, ABZORB technology is coupled with an aggressive outsole that makes transitioning from urban landscape to the outdoors seamless.
A stateside NewBalance.com release date may be in the works, but this X-Racer Trail Utility trio is currently headed to retailers in Asia on March 27th.
