Besides being linked to Travis Scott‘s next collaboration, fragment design has been busy contributing to the Nike Dunk High‘s mainstream revival. Unlike other collaborators the Swoosh has tapped in the last few years, the Hiroshi Fujiwara-led imprint already boasted a joint-effort under its belt, which is now available at Stadium Goods.
Part of a three-pair “City Series” collection released in 2010, the “Beijing” Dunk High indulges in a “Wine/Black/White” colorway. Modified for its 2021 retro, however, the understated arrangement abandons its mismatched aesthetic previously divided between right and left shoes for a symmetrical makeup. Furthermore, the pair’s product information is printed on the midsole’s lateral side, a design choice that’s become synonymous with Virgil Abloh’s Off-White endeavors. The Japanese brand’s iconic double bolt-logo is stamped right above the aforementioned text, harkening back to the decade-old Nike Dunks that are sure to instantly sell-out whenever they arrive to retailers.
