Although the Nike Air Max 97 is a year away from its milestone 25th anniversary, the silhouette has taken the first four months of 2021 to showcase a handful of impressive, in-line styles. For its latest proposition, the Christian Tresser-designed shoe has coupled its inaugural “Metallic Silver” base with purple accents for a familiar, yet refreshing look.
Mesh and synthetic leather overlays throughout the design from 1997 predominantly indulge in a shimmering tone, with the exception of the striping immediately above the full-length mudguard. Black enters the mix at the collar, spine and tongue label, with the latter two components also donning purple flair. Miniature swooshes on the mid-foot also indulge in the rich hue, but they’re overshadowed by the Air Max-cushioning’s all-purple makeup. What remains of the midsole indulges in simple white, which also appears throughout the iconic tread underfoot. Together, the aforementioned detailing slightly follows the aesthetic popularized by the Air Max 97/BW “Persian Violet”.
Enjoy official images of the shoes here below while you wait for information about a Nike.com launch to emerge.
Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, the Air Jordan 1 “Seafoam” is set to arrive on August 12th for the whole family.
