Jasmine Tang The popularity of bubble tea has led to new, creative takes on traditional flavors and even merchandise, proving that the Asian beverage has become much more than a drink—it’s a cultural phenomenon. Inspired by the original milk tea flavor that started the craze, Japan-based retailer BILLY’S TOKYO brews an exclusive, white and beige Stan Smith dubbed “Milk Tea Beige.”
Its design consists of a Footwear White base that is composed of Primegreen materials as part of adidas’s recent sustainability efforts. Rather than having the heel tab match the vegan “leather” uppers, it opts for a luxe, suede-like material in the tan shade Savannah, which alludes to the “Milk Tea Beige” nickname. To further the premium look, logos on the heel tab, tongue, and lateral side are printed in gold foil. The top pair of eyelets along with the lace tips also see a gold finish to complete this sweet treat of a sneaker.
