Jovani Hernandez In addition to tapping new-age collaborators the likes of Gunna and The Weeknd, the last couple of year have seen A BATHING APE (BAPE) revisit its partnership decades-old partnership with adidas. For their next endeavor, the institutions have prepped an adidas Superstar covered in the Japanese label’s iconic green ABC camouflage.
As with adidas Originals collaborations of yesteryear, the forthcoming pair lends its entire upper to BAPE’s oft-imitated, military-inspired print. Shell-toes and their attached sole units forgo any warped flair in favor of an off-white arrangement. Profile STAs and “BAPE STA”-branded heel panels opt into a pristine white look, while “A BATHING APE” branding on the lateral mid-foot and tongue indulge in a shimmering gold finish. Lace dubraes also follow suit, introducing yet another hit of luxury to the storied partnership’s latest joint-effort. Lastly, shoe boxes also sport the iconic green ABC camo, and are co-branded with the German sportswear manufacturer’s 3-Stripes.
An adidas.com release date hasn’t been confirmed, but retailers across the globe currently have BAPE’s next Superstar scheduled for a May 7th launch. In any case, enjoy detailed images of the shoes here below.
