Throughout the last year, adidas Originals has brought notable, long-overdue attention to its Torsion-backed ZX line that debuted in the 1980s. Among collaborative takes on models from the retro running collection, the Three Stripes has also outfitted the adidas UltraBOOST in colorways nodding to inaugural styles of these segment-pushing silhouettes. Before launching its “ZX Collection” globally, the German sportswear manufacturer has given Packer early-dibs to the three-pair lineup.
Inspired by the original ZX 8000, ZX 6000 and ZX 9000, the forthcoming trio blends heritage and modern-day design well. Primeknit construction throughout the upper, which features the first UltraBOOST‘s knit pattern, indulges in shades of “Light Aqua,” “Cream White” and “Bahia Mint” to match their respective muses’ most signature arrangements. Support structures around the heel don’t abandon their standard build in favor of the ZX line’s, but BOOST-cushioning underfoot takes on matching colors to commemorate the range’s game-changing tooling. Lace dubraes and Torsion bars underfoot also follow suit.
Enjoy detailed imagery of all three UltraBOOST options here below, and find them available at PackerShoes.com at midnight on May 1st. The “ZX Collection” arrives to adidas.com on May 7th.
