While the Nike Air Force 1 is a timeless silhouette, the Air Force 1/1 kicks the 1982 classic up a notch via velcro-covered components that allow wearers to apply patches to customize their footwear. Just a month after revealing a White and Sapphire Blue pair that featured outdoor-inspired velcro patches, Nike has now dropped a Black and Hyper Pink arrangement that nods at the “Have a Nike Day” branding campaign.
The GS exclusive flaunts a black, smooth leather base that is topped with Hyper Pink Nike Air logos on the tongue label and heel. As with other AF 1/1s, the heel, Swoosh, and toe each reveals a layer of velcro for the interchangeable patches. These decorative elements include two pairs of pink Swooshes and four smaller patches that evoke the themes of peace, love, and happiness the “Have a Nike Day” branding is centered around. Furthermore, the groovy patches adopt a color palette of blue, pink, and purple that is strikingly similar to the “Have a Nike Day” pack released as part of Air Max Day 2019. To round out the playful look, the style opts for a white midsole and a Hyper Pink rubber outsole—both sharply contrasting the black leather body.
