Todd Snyder has cemented himself as a leading American designer through both his own work and collaborative projects. On May 20th, the latter group will add an impressive tally to its roster as Snyder is set to launch an extensive capsule surrounding the Converse Jack Purcell.

Inspired by the world-class badminton player the shoe’s named after and his cheeky attitude, the 12-style collection features apparel and two takes on the low-top sneaker. Keeping the shoe’s iconic blue “smile” at the toe intact, the American designer has reimagined Converse’s classic proposition with organic cotton clad in either navy or off-white egret. Underfoot, the sole unit comprises of recycled rubber, which pairs with a cork sock-liner for an eco-friendly approach to the Jack Purcells. While not visible, cushioning has been modified to proffer a more comfortable ride than on the original badminton shoe. Lastly, Snyder embroiders his eponymous label’s name onto the lateral heel while suede partially covers the tongue.
