Jasmine Tang Sneakerheads and LEGO enthusiasts alike were enchanted by the adidas LEGO UltraBoost released in April, due to its customizable LEGO plates to build endless looks. The footwear-meets-fun partnership continues with four additional UltraBoost models inspired by the colors of the standard toy bricks.
While the adidas ZX 8000 already dropped a six-piece pack that references the classic LEGO shades, this UltraBoost lineup deviates from the aforementioned collection’s tonal approach. So instead of having wholly black and white styles, these two shades make up the mesh uppers of the four models. Specifically, a white base is used for the blue and red brick-inspired variations with the remaining yellow and green brick options seeing black mesh uppers. Each pair has lace cages and heel counters in their respective brick color that flaunt a studded design reminiscent of the bumps on the beloved toys. The assigned color is also applied to the laces as an added touch of brightness. For the yellow and red pairs, the BOOST foam midsole is tinted to match the base’s accents. This leaves the other two propositions to color the suede overlay on the toe to round out the design.
