As a follow-up to their highly-coveted New Balance 920 from January, Sneakersnstuff (SNS) and New Balance have prepped a footwear and apparel collection inspired by the blue racer snake.
Consisting of t-shirts, sweat and tracksuits, the forthcoming capsule includes a premium, thematic take on the fairly-novel New Balance 237. CORDURA® mesh across the upper is accompanied by hairy suede overlays around the base and along the tongue; both components borrow their varying shades of grey from the aforementioned reptile. Profile “N” logos, however, deliver the most direct nod to the limbless creature given its faux blue racer snakeskin build. Hits of near-fluorescent pink join the mix at branding throughout the top-half, delivering stark contrast to the predominantly-muted ensemble. Underfoot, sole units appear slightly “aged” given the midsole’s yellowed portion towards the rear.
Accompanying clothing indulges in the 237’s titular tones, with a track jacket and pants set donning the snakeskin pattern. Graphic t-shirts, sweatsuits and a half-zip make more subdued statements than the tracksuit, but deliver styles that match the New Balance shoes perfectly.
Enjoy campaign and product imagery of the upcoming collaboration here below. The entire “Blue Racer” collection arrives exclusively to the SNS app and NewBalance.com on June 11th. (The former will host an 8-bit style car racing game inspired by the campaign.)
Elsewhere from the Boston-based brand, the New Balance 990v3 has recently appeared by way of collaborations.
