If you’ve spent any time on social media, then it’s likely you’ve seen the New Balance 550 in some capacity. Arguably due to Aime Leon Dore‘s assistance, the silhouette has quickly become one of the Boston-based brand’s most popular shoes, selling out in mere moments whenever offered. And if you were one of the many to take an L, there’s reason to rejoice as we’re to see many more colorways in the months ahead.
Though reminiscent of past options, this pair opts for a purple yet to be seen. It dresses the side’s “N” logo, the heel clip and outsole, the tongue’s basketball-inspired branding, and a few of the accents adjacent. Elsewhere, however, the construction is not quite as colorful, relying primarily on white leathers in smooth and perforated variety. The toe cap forward, then, contrasts marginally in a light grey suede, while the midsole adds a vintage flair thanks to its off-white treatment.
For a closer look, see the official images below. It’s likely we’ll see sizes appear at select retailers as well as newbalance.com come June 24th.
In other news, the New Balance MS1300 Green Logo Pack continues the Tokyo Design Studio’s efforts.
