Hate him or love him, LeBron James‘ newsworthiness is impossible to deny. And while “the kid from Akron” received a lot of negative press as a result of getting eliminated in the first round of the 2020-21 NBA Playoffs, he’s put together a number of favorable headlines from throughout his 18-season career for the latest Nike LeBron 18 “G.O.A.T.”
The second installment in a series of sneakers cheekily nodding to James’ consideration as the “Greatest Of All Time,” the newly-surfaced pair features a basketball-goat logo on the sock-liner. Flyknit construction across the upper maintains a relatively muted look, while molded support structures around the heel indulge in a semi-translucent neon green; outsoles follow suit and may include glow-in-the-dark capabilities. Laces and detailing on the tongue opt for a starkly-contrasting infrared tone, but don’t overshadow the newspaper graphics printed onto the tongue and around the collar. While difficult to make out exactly which headlines have been included, words like “CHAMPS,” “BACK 2 BACK 2 BACK!” and “MVP” appear prominently.
Enjoy official images of James’ latest proposition here below, and anticipate a Nike.com launch soon.
