Michael Le Further teased not long ago, Matthew M Williams’ upcoming ALYX x Nike Air Force 1 High shines the classic through a luxurious lens. Everything from the construction to the fasteners has been upgraded considerably, incorporating the label’s signature style without compromising the silhouette’s original form.
Though prepared in two colorways, both iterations are cut from the same Lyra leather, one whose full-grain, pebbled nappa finish produces an almost silken feel throughout. The material is then dyed either a black or white and stamped with “1017 ALYX 9SM” in silver and gold, respectively, while the tooling and lace unit opt to match their adjacent neutrals. Elsewhere, the smoothened strap and Swoosh contrast in grey, complementing the rollercoaster buckle whose anodized silver only aids the premium aesthetic. Finally, the lining rounds out the experience with a plush Kashmere.
