Metallica And Vans Celebrate The 30th Anniversary Of “The Black Album” With Graphic-Heavy Capsule

Undoubtedly one of the most iconic heavy metal bands of all-time, Metallica is soon to celebrate the 30th anniversary of “The Black Album.” And to appropriately commemorate the occasion, Vans is joining in on the fun, dressing both the Slip-On and Sk8-Hi in prints designed by the legendary artist Pushead.

Despite the large difference in canvas, both silhouettes make use of the very same graphic. Its various blue-outlined shapes, silver-clad “Metallica” text, and gruesome depiction of a skull mounted onto a stake can be seen clearly along their black backdrops. The only distinction is the print’s placement: the Slip-On prefers to display it along the toe, while the Sk8-Hi opts for a mid-panel showing. What’s more, the latter also adds some additional branding right atop the midsole.
