Over its 36-year-old history, the Air Jordan 1 has donned hundreds of colorways and handfuls of different builds. Soon enough, an “Acclimate” iteration will join its roster, upping the model’s winter-readiness.
At a glance, Peter Moore’s design maintains its general shape and makeup, but closer inspection reveals a number of differences. The pair’s leather construction has ostensibly been treated to withstand the elements more than a standard Air Jordan, boasting a shimmering finish; perforations at the toe box are closed, but aesthetically present. Metallic eyelets inject a certain robustness typical of heavy-duty footwear to the retro, while the faux fur lining visible around the collar promise warmth unlike most other iterations of Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker. Textured panels around the collar (which forgoes the “Wings” logo) and bottom heel deliver further protection against the colder season, while sole units feature an added layer of reinforcement right above the midsole.
