Michael Le Sisterhood and the feminine divine are concepts Nike has only recently begun to touch on. In the past, the industry — and its offerings — were heavily male-dominated, meaning most of the best releases and collaborations lacked accessibility. But in recent years, that has thankfully begun to change, and this Air Max 97 is soon to join alongside the droves of women’s exclusives.
Dubbed “Sisterhood,” the colorway strings together a floral but not stereotypical arrangement. Pinks of more universal appeal are applied throughout: for example, a salmon dresses most of the upper layers, while a darker, hotter shade pops along the lace unit and lining. Cream suedes and mesh, then, round out the construction elsewhere, providing a clean, almost luxurious feel. What’s more, to further celebrate the theme of choice, a “SISTER” marked hang tag accessorizes the pair in what looks to be rose gold.
