A glance at what’s in store for Nike’s “Move To Zero” initiative reveals a handful of styles that flaunt cork materials and other innovations that embrace a raw, “organic” aesthetic often associated with sustainability. However, there are also offerings such as this Nike Air Force 1 that approach eco-conscious footwear differently—instead of nature-reminiscent looks, these arrangements boast a rather sleek, futuristic vibe that demonstrates how sustainable sneakers are beyond a novelty item.
This GS-exclusive AF 1’s uppers mostly consist of black uppers although the heel uses grey panels for a gradient effect. A translucent gridded overlay is applied atop the uppers for a decked-out, patterned look that takes the silhouette into the future. White leather animates the profile Swooshes with the speckled Crater sole unit also opting for a lightened look. The “Move To Zero” Pinwheel logo is stamped on the heel, insole, and tongue label to round out the stealthy style.
Take a closer look at the Air Force 1 below, which will be available at Nike.com in the coming months with a price tag of $110.
