Months removed from its 25th anniversary, the Nike Air Max 97 is ostensory ramping up the production cycle as it continues to emerge in brand-new styles. For its latest ensemble, Christian Tresser’s revolutionary design has indulged in a predominantly “Black” scheme complete with minimal “Emerald Green” contrast.
Akin to other stealthy arrangements that’ve appeared on the sneaker, a pitch-dark tone takes over much of the synthetic leather and mesh construction that makes up the model’s upper. Vamp overlays, however, deviate ever so slightly in a dark grey hue. Branded mid-foot panels and tongue patches introduce a greenish color into the mix, as well as an abstract pattern; under the proper light conditions, the detail boasts an iridescent finish. Underfoot, full-length Air Max units opt for an extremely dark shade of blue. Together, each component ostensibly nods to the emerald snake, as suggested by the scale-like pattern that takes over the swooshes printed on the sock-liner.
