adidas Commissions Book Works For A Pair Of Jazz-Inspired Campus 80s

feature image

Based in New York City, Book Works, manned by Martin Davis and Oskar Mann, is a design collective born from a like-minded appreciation of jazz music. Stocked in a number of high profile boutiques worldwide, the label has since gained enough of a reputation to earn a collaboration with none other than adidas.

Book Works’ Campus 80s — like the founders themselves — is inspired wholly by jazz. And though sheet music may dress the sockliner, the colorway is conversely minimal, opting primarily for an all-black look. The Three Stripes follow suit, appearing near invisible, so as not to take away from the blue and green arc that adorns the side in a velvety suede. A gilded “Book Works” logo, then, completes the entire packaging, matching the insignia along the box and insole.
