Jovani Hernandez As part of its “diamond” anniversary (75 years), the National Basketball Association (NBA) has tapped the Swoosh for an expansive footwear collaboration. The latest proposition to surface?: A Nike Air Force 1 High dipped in “Black /Grey Fog/Chile Red/Sail.”
Akin to pairs of yesteryear, the newly-surfaced style indulges in a split arrangement across its smooth and tumbled leather upper. Toe boxes, lace guards and heel panels indulge in a pitch-dark tone, while overlays wrapped around the forefoot and at the mid-foot deviate in stark “Chile Red” contrast. Profile swooshes, ankle straps and upper heel panels also opt for a “brighter” color, favoring “Sail” flair. Sole units don’t deviate much from the aforementioned color palette, but lace dubraes and logos on the tongue label boast non-standard branding related to the NBA’s 75th anniversary.
