Jovani Hernandez Although 2021 isn’t over yet, countless “Sneaker of the Year” conversations have already included a particular pair: The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 3. As a follow-up to its springtime release, the Washington D.C.-based boutique has prepped an equally-luxurious Air Jordan 1 High OG expected to launch before the year ends.
Traditional smooth leather is replaced by high-quality suede across most of the retro’s upper. “Sail” takes over everything from the toe box to the tongue and heel, leaving profile swooshes and collar paneling to indulge in a contrasting “Burgundy Crush” tone. These components also deviate in their material finish, as they boast am eye-catching snakeskin finish. Laces and “NIKE AIR” text on the Jordans‘ tongue label forgo any reptilian-inspired arrangement, but opt for the same wine-like hue; the inner lining follows suit, while also donning a quilted satin build akin to A Ma Maniére’s aforementioned collaboration.
Elsewhere, co-branding appears underneath the tongue label and on the sock-liner. Aglets also don the boutique’s name in cursive. Sole units underfoot round out the Jordan 1‘s thoughtful makeup, combining a slightly-yellowed midsole with a rich burgundy outsole for a vintage aesthetic.
An official Nike SNKRS drop date hasn’t been confirmed by the parties involved, but that’s likely to change as the holiday season gets underway. In any case, enjoy images of the pair ahead.
