After sputtering out of the gates to start the season, the Milwaukee Bucks are suddenly among the hottest teams in the NBA – winners of seven straight and owners of the second longest current winning streak after Phoenix downed the scorching hot Warriors in a probable preview of a heated Playoff match-up. Things are looking even more up and up for the defending champions thanks to the newly acquired DeMarcus Cousins, the former elite big-man hobbled by injuries and with plenty left in the gas-tank. Of course it all comes down to the performance of their two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, whose Zoom Freak 3 just appeared in one of its best colorways yet.
Combining a mix of relaxing blue hues, the Zoom Freak 3 “Dutch Blue” only reminds us of the refreshing waters of the Mediterranean sea off the coast of his home country of Greece. We’ve seen this color-combination referenced on Ronnie Fieg’s New Balance 997.5 collaboration as he looked to a past vacation in Mykonos for inspiration on the design. Nike’s version sees a soft Dutch Blue mudguard, turquoise and ghost hits throughout, metallic gold accents on the Swoosh and tongue, and translucent mid-foot strap. Perhaps the most telling of the design concept are the lines drawn on the ankles, perhaps mimicking the current of the waters.
The Zoom Freak 3 “Dutch Blue” was originally scheduled to release in late October, but has since been postponed to an undisclosed date (likely in early 2022). Adult (pictured) and GS sizes expected.
In other news, the releases of the Cool Grey 11s is just days away.
