Recently, Nike has dressed up the Air Max 90 in a number of eccentric ways. Besides its “Athletic Club” entries, the silhouette has featured multiple animal prints, anthropomorphic mushrooms, neon gradients, and much, much more. But here, it’s finally showing some restraint, ringing in the new year with a series of muted colors.
Through the profile, the mudguard proffers an olive-tinted suede, one close in color to the leather Swoosh, whose finish is not too unlike the topmost eye stay and the Nike Air stamped into the heel. The quarter complements with a far lighter earth tone, though one not nearly as bright as the mesh and lace unit adjacent. Finally, subtle pops of violet are spread through the profile, sole, and branding, easing the brand into the upcoming Spring season.
