Back in December 2021, Draymond Green wore an undisclosed pair of Converse basketball sneakers that led many spectators to believe that it was the Golden State Warriors forward’s first signature shoe with the brand. Today, the Boston-based institution has shared that the model isn’t Green’s exclusively, but instead the All Star BB Shift designed for the growing number of “positionless” players in the sport.
Not too dissimilar in shape from the reworked low-top Converse G4 that Green has consistently worn since signing with the century-old company in March 2020, the All Star BB Shift immediately drew comparisons to some of the most celebrated Nike Kobe designs. Zoom Air-cushioning is found within the latest basketball proposition from the “One Star Brand,” while a TPU shield is found throughout the lateral profile for lateral containment. Multi-directional traction underfoot works with the aforementioned components to address two of the three tentpoles referenced in the All Star BB Shift’s design: control and lockdown. The third – weight – is achieved by the breathable leno weave pods that work in-tandem with the textile and synthetic leather materials found across the upper. A padded collar area further ensures comfort and ankle lockdown for players not confined to any position between the “1” and “5.”
Enjoy campaign imagery of the shoes ahead, which debut in an expressive “Black/Neon Pink” ensemble, and find pairs available via Converse.com on February 28th for $120 USD each.
