Converse is covering a lot of ground with its well-curated selection of collaborative partners. Todd Snyder hits on the menswear corner, while Tyler, The Creator brings his playful and goofy side to the brand with ample pastel hits. Joshua Vides is bringing with him the world of art, offering his take on three silhouettes that not only reflect his personal style, but nods to artists and creators everywhere.
He and Converse present a trio of the icons and modernized classics in this capsule, with the Chuck 70, Pro Leather, and Weapon CX bringing their own unique modifications. The Chuck 70 is covered with a fully customizable exterior Tyvek® shroud that hides a 3D-printed polka dotted pattern on the canvas beneath. The Pro Leather depicts Vides’ signature aesthetic of retracing objects, with dark black lines on cream canvas achieving the design of the Pro Leather. The Weapon CX is perhaps the most daring of the three as he swaps out the toe-box and mid-panel with a completely transparent window, possibly a nod to ESPO’s Air Force II collaboration of 2004.
All three are set to release on Converse.com and select retailers; see the official images below and stay tuned for the release.
