COMME des GARÇONS, whether by way of HOMME PLUS or SHIRT, has never ceased to amaze with their sneaker collaborations. Even CdG Play — the simple, menswear-oriented side of the Japanese label — has commanded a great deal of both positive and negative attention with their Converse Chuck 70s, whose canvas has been stamped time and time again with the iconic Filip Pagowski designed heart.
This season, Rei Kawakubo’s diffusion and Converse are coming together once again; and though it may seem familiar at a glance, this upcoming capsule features a slight twist on the seasonal formula.
Presented in both a low and mid-top trim, the collection features two core colorways: black and white. If you’re familiar with past offerings, the upper should feel familiar, as it recycles previously seen construction. Canvas runs through the profile as per the standard, while silver metallic eyelets and rubberized toes sit adjacent. The above-mentioned heart is, of course, in tow as well, dressing the side in its signature red shade. What’s more, the latter appears below, too, glazed across the entire midsole.
