While the status of Travis Scott‘s relationship with NIKE, Inc. hasn’t been disclosed following the tragedy that was Astroworld Festival 2021, the Texas-native’s influence on the company’s footwear products has all but gone away. Recently, a Nike Air Force 1 Low appeared with a shroud covering the laces, a design detail widely associated with Scott.
Although color palettes differ between the upcoming take on Bruce Kilgore’s design and the aforementioned musician’s collaboration from November 16, 2019, materials cross over between both styles. Grey suede makes up the entirety of the latest Air Force 1‘s upper, though toe box and mid-foot areas introduce a warm weather-friendlier woven fabric into the mix. Inner lining indulges in an eye-catching light blue that also animates the nearby lace shroud’s zipper. Underfoot, Kilgore’s iconic sole unit proposition is reworked in the fan-favorite “White” midsole, “Light Gum Brown” outsole combination that also draws similarities to Travis Scott’s Air Force 1 Low collaboration from 2019.
No firm Nike.com release date has been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change as summer inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
Elsewhere under the Swoosh umbrella, the Air Max 97 is celebrating its 25th anniversary throughout 2022.
