Aside from a few, bolder exceptions, the Air Jordan 1 Low has showcased quite a bit of restraint over the past few months. The shoe’s colorways have mostly leaned on familiar tones — and whenever straying far from heritage, it rarely ever goes full tilt. Even with its latest, which is easily one of the boldest we’ve seen in a long while, the silhouette errs on the side of caution.
Unlike most of the AJ1’s offerings, the pair here starts with a light pink base, which is displayed across the mid-panel, toe, and tongue. The overlays along the forward half feel separate from the what’s behind, as its vibrant orange color abruptly ends with the eye stays. Then, black neutrals — which also dye the Jumpman and 23 symbols elsewhere — come into play across the collar, heel counter, and Swoosh; and though disparate from the aforementioned, its rear-facing Wings do create a sense of cohesion.
