Kendrick Lamar has been relatively “missing in action” over the last five years, but “oklama” – the alter ego the Compton-native is putting on for his Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers album – is coming out the woodwork soon. In addition to dropping the aforementioned album, the 34-year-old is lending his pgLang agency’s creative vision to both the Converse Chuck 70 and Pro Leather.
Akin to some of the other creative work the Lamar and Dave Free co-founded agency have embarked on for Baby Keem and Calvin Klein, the two classic silhouettes from the “One Star Brand” indulge in minimal makeovers rooted in story-telling. Subtle shades of white take over both sneakers, with the taller of the two pairs also donning classic red and blue accents. Metal grommets appear along the tongue, with “pgLang” and “a” branding complimenting Converse‘s logos across profiles, spines and sock-liners. With the first-ever pgLang x Converse collaboration, both parties celebrate what’s established and what’s to come.
Continue ahead for campaign imagery of the pgLang for Converse collection, and find both pairs of shoes via Converse.com and pg-lang.com beginning on May 2nd.
