From its original year in 1982 to the current year of 2022, the Air Force 1 has endured forty years of changes — both internal and external. Starting off as a the Air Force 1 High four decades ago, the Bruce Kilgore-designed sneaker has gone through its own peaks and valleys, although each Air Force 1 fan has his/her/their own personal timeline with the shoe. Whether your rocked AF1s since the 80s or just copped your first white-on-whites last year, the Air Force 1 holds historical significance to the brand’s key Sportswear business.
This upcoming Air Force 1 Mid LX for men, colored in Shimmer, Pale Ivory, and Coconut, details the official timeline of the Air Force 1. 1983 marks the first Air Force 1 Low, 1994 marks the introduction of the Mid, 2001 the first women’s exclusive, and so on. All this is detailed in a typewritten tongue label that doubles as a vintage store receipt. On the insoles is an illustration of two beavers, presumably nodding to the AF1’s connection to Beaverton, OR — where the shoes were made — and Vietnam — where the shoes were manufactured.
Currently, a release is expected in August, although we’ll hold off on confirming any release details as delays continue to be the norm.
