Sneaker News Through the Conversations Amongst Us collection, Joe Freshgoods and New Balance introduced significant cultural and historical topics into the world of footwear through the lens of Black creatives. The inaugural collection has already seen the ever-popular New Balance 550 and 2002R brought to life via a cream and faded yellow aesthetic, but Joe now brings his vision to the performance world with the New Balance KAWHI 2.
Kawhi Leonard, New Balance’s premier hoops athlete, was actually a part of that initial campaign that started the conversation. Bringing that relationship to full circle, Joe Freshgoods, Kawhi Leonard, and New Balance present the KAWHI 2 with a cream upper accented by an aged yellow on the contrast stitching and on the cracked midsole at the heel as well as on the mesh underlay. The “Conversations Amongst Us” type appears on the insole, while “Joe And Kawhi (c. 2022) A New Day” appear on the tongue.
The New Balance KAWHI 2 “Conversations Amongst Us” is set to release on June 3rd on NewBalance.com and select retailers for $160. Grade school sizes are expected to release as well.
