Including but not limited to thisisneverthat and Kasina, Korea’s best brands and boutiques have helped create some of the most exciting sneaker collaborations we’ve seen in the past few years. Andersson Bell, too, recently entered the fold, collaborating on a trio of GEL-1090s back in March of 2021. And now, more than an entire year thereafter, the label is back with an evolved version of their last capsule, which applies the same theme to the Kiko Kostadinov-curated HN2-S Protoblast.
Somewhat of a three-way partnership, the Andersson Bell x ASICS HN2-S Protoblast does very little with the silhouette itself, opting to highlight the design work of Kiko Kostadinov’s team. The Korean label does, however, affix a number of anchors to the shoe, locking down the flat, auxiliary laces that are fastened tightly against the shoe’s side, heel, and instep. Additionally, “Andersson Bell” is written along the back heel tab in a light shade that complements the black, grey, and tan colorways.
According to Andersson Bell on IG, the collaboration was slated for a global launch on May 27th. But select retailers in Asia have only dropped their pairs this week, and shops outside of the region have yet to offer any confirmation. It’s likely we’ll see a wider release very soon, so sit tight as we await further updates.
