The green and purple color combo has ties to a drove of iconic characters, from the Green Goblin to the Incredible Hulk. And while it’s possible none have inspired this upcoming Air Max 97, its colorway is at least simple enough to choose your own connection.
Surrounded by shades of black, which alternate between thick canvas and nylon ripstop, the two core colors play a lesser role in the grand scheme. Purple details the various forms of branding, from the miniature Swoosh to the restyled “Nike” text, as well as the Air Unit and the mostly-obscured layer of suede; green, then, dresses the two leather strips immediately above and the tab on which the aforementioned type rests.
Revealed first in kids sizes, this Air Max 97 can be viewed in detail below. Sizes are sure to appear on Nike.com and at select retailers soon, so sit tight.
In other news, the Air Max 1 Yellow/White is a return to basics.
