The Serena Williams Design Crew Covers The Nike Air Force 1 Low In Rich Blue

Having recently gotten the largest office building on Nike’s World HQ named after her, Serena Williams is a big deal. On the product side of things, the tennis superstar is also set to receive another Air Force 1 Low collaboration.

Assembled by the Michigan-native’s Swoosh-backed design crew (SWDC), the upcoming sneaker also dons a zipper across the center of the upper, just as past iterations from Williams. This time around, the clean “colorless” arrangement seen on an Air Force 1 for the 40-year-old is replaced with a vibrant blue that may nod to the Crip gang founded in Los Angeles, where Serena Williams spent some of her formative years (she infamously c-walked at the London 2012 Summer Olympics). Flora-like patterns are etched across the bulk of the pair’s upper, while gold accents appear at the tongue and heels. Sock-liners indulge in a multi-colored flower pattern accompanied by” SWDC” logos, suggesting the creative cohort is just getting started. Lastly, Bruce Kilgore’s oft-imitated sole unit solution underfoot boasts a semi-translucent, icy blue finish.

No firm Nike SNKRS launch details have been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change as summer inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy a first in-hand look at the pair ahead, courtesy of Instagram user @sneakerknockerzllc.
