Virgil Abloh is a well-known, well-documented advocate of the Air Force 1. From “The Ten” to his Spring/Summer 2022 collection with Louis Vuitton, the designer has more than paid his respects to Bruce Kilgore’s beloved creation. And even in death (may his soul rest in peace), Abloh’s love is unrelenting, as the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid is about to make its posthumous debut.
Unveiled well-before Abloh’s unfortunate passing, the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid has just surfaced via official images. Its design strays far away from “The Ten,” opting for a look reminiscent of the designer’s later works. For example, the fore of the sole is clad with track spikes, overtly likening the shoe to the Terra Kiger 5. Even in colorway, the pair is resmiscent of said offering, incorporating dark silver Swooshes, a palette predominantly colored black, and orange tabs/zip ties. And though the textile upper is much less familiar, the graffiti-styled “AIR” on the tongue and the graphics on the sockliner channel the former Off-White head’s signature taste.
For a closer look at the upcoming Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid, see the official images below. Currently, these are expected to release on June 23rd via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
In other news, the first Jacquemus Nike Sneaker was just unveiled.
