The Saucony 3D G.R.I.D. Hurricane From 1996 Is Coming Back

The Saucony 3D G.R.I.D. Hurricane From 1996 Is Coming Back

In the 1990s, footwear cushioning was an all-out arms race in the sneaker industry with competing brands introducing their own unique proprietary innovations in a completely visible manner. Promising unbridled stability and control, Saucony’s 3D G.R.I.D system was introduced on the Hurricane as the brand’s top-of-the-line option for runners and trainers; the 3D G.R.I.D. wrapped the midsole and was made visible on the exterior as well as through a small window through the sole.

In 2022, Saucony is bringing back the 3D G.R.I.D. Hurricane in two original colorways in the standard mesh, synthetic suede, and synthetic leather construction. Like the originals, these 2022 Hurricanes feature the same branding hits, including the miniature Saucony “S” at the forefoot and the GRID callout on the tongue and heel.

At least two original colorways are on the ledger for a release, so stay tuned for updates as both will be available soon on Saucony.com soon; retailers in Europe will have both available on June 24th.
