Before the current crop of awe-inspiring talent in the WNBA, Lisa Leslie reigned supreme. Recently, the former Los Angeles Sparks center got the honor of getting her very own Nike Dunk Low.
While the pairing may seem strange to the uninformed, Peter Moore’s 37-year-old design cheekily nods to one of Leslie’s most important accomplishments: the first dunk in WNBA history. “Court Purple,” “Clear Emerald” and vibrant gold take over each iconic panel on the upcoming Nike Dunk, with “9” figures – the number worn by the Compton, California-native – being stitched on the lateral heel. Nylon tongues also follow the aforementioned color scheme, while Air Jordan 1-reminiscent sole units underfoot deviate from the Sparks-informed style with their “White” and “Black” duo.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike SNKRS launch sometime in July to coincide with Leslie’s birthday (July 7th).
