More Nike Air Ships Revealed As New Yellow Colorway Appears

As NIKE, Inc. tells it, commissioner David Stern “banned” the Air Jordan 1 back in 1985. While narratively compelling, the Oregon-based company’s tale was more marketing ploy than accurate event. With the return of the Nike Air Ship, however, it seems the brand is finally embracing the truth.

Reissued in true-to-original form throughout 2020, the pre-Air Jordan silhouette has recently emerged in a handful of styles following the original “White/Red” color-blocking found on Michael Jordan’s first on-court sneaker. Fresh off the heels of the white/green version revealed by @hidden.ny, a white/yellow option is among the Air Ship’s newly created batch of retros, with all details remaining intact: a predominantly “colorless” leather takes over most of the upper, with midsoles also donning a clean look. Contrasting tones, then, arrive via the profile swooshes, “Wings”-less collar panels, “NIKE AIR” text at the top of the tongue and made-for-basketball outsoles. Shoe boxes also turn back the clock to ’85 and include literature breaking down tech specifications of the Peter Moore design.

Enjoy a detailed look at the pair ahead, and stay tuned for potential release details. Photos courtesy of @kivijarvi.
