Craig Green’s Latest adidas Collaboration Reinvents The 1988 Squash Shoe

Craig Green’s Latest adidas Collaboration Reinvents The 1988 Squash Shoe

Thanks to Yeezy, Y-3, and even trending classics like the Stan Smith, adidas is no outsider to the realm of popular fashion. And in the past few years, the Three Stripes have made a concerted effort to further immerse themselves in said world, teaming up with the likes of Gucci, Prada, and Wales Bonner. Craig Green, too, has joined the brand’s extended family, and he’s been crafting unique, collaborative silhouettes since SS20.

Previously, Craig Green would release multiple offerings with every capsule. But for his latest effort, the designer focuses on just one: the SQUASH POLTA AKH, a reimagining of the the adidas Squash shoe that released back in 1988.

Characteristic of Craig Green, the upper of the SQUASH POLTA AKH is constructed with a transparent mesh, which exposes the model’s many layers as well as the industrial color codes that are typically hidden. What’s more, Stripes are printed onto the profile, their deep green color becoming more see-through as they work up the side. And though predominantly lensed through Green’s wilder design language, the original inspiration can still be felt by way of the Trefoil-branded sole unit, perforated tongue, and suede trims.

For a closer look at the SQUASH POLTA AKH, see below. These will be available on July 27th through the adidas CONFIRMED app as well as select retailers.
