Jovani Hernandez Christian Tresser’s revolutionary Nike Air Max 97 celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. To commemorate the milestone, the Swoosh has reportedly prepped the silhouette in its debut “Silver Bullet” look, but has teased the pair in handfuls of new styles first.
Ahead of autumn, the game-changing Air Max model has emerged in a mix of muted “Spruce” and vibrant “Volt,” creating an ensemble reminiscent of past University of Oregon-inspired shoes. Ripstop nylon, leather and suede come together across the upper to make up an autumn-friendly look, while the full-length Airbag underfoot jumps ahead to next spring and summer. The aforementioned color combination isn’t new to the Nike Sportswear lineup of products, but its appearance on the anniversary-celebrating Air Max 97 is.
