Titan x Nike LeBron 19 Low Inspired By The Mythical “Ultramar”

Titan x Nike LeBron 19 Low Inspired By The Mythical “Ultramar”

If you’re privy to the full breadth of the international basketball scene, you’d know the Philippines ranks up their as one of the games most profound admirers. An unquenchable thirst for a deep-rooted connection to the game is ever apparent throughout the country with the first Filipino basketball concept shop – TITAN  – at the center of the hoops ecosystem. Collaborating for its third installment with The Swoosh, the international brand is drawing inspiration from the fabled mythical creature, Leon de Ultramar, translated in English to Sea Lion. With new colorways of the widely-adorned Nike LeBron 20 surfacing ever so sparsely, the former’s 19th signature silhouettes time in the sun isn’t quite over with TITAN enlisting the low-top version for its latest partnership.

The significance of the half-lion half-dolphin figure can’t be understated, making its first appearance on the City of Manila’s coat of arms. The symbol plays a significant role in the heritage of the country, whose namesake was derived from the previous authority of the Spanish hierarchy. Centuries removed from its creation, the Ultramar lives on while hiding in plain sight, being visible in all aspects of Filipino life and culture from city flags and government seals to corporate logos.

That same notion of an immortal and omnipresent existence presiding over the community is extended into the TITAN x LeBron 19 Low “Beyond the Seas” which captures the cultures unique and infinite passion for the game. Treated with a royal white upper, golden accents illuminate the medial heel Swoosh, vertical spine branding, lacelets and Ultramar shield on the upper tongue while an icy translucent outsole rounds out a majority of the construction.

Having touched down in the Philippines multiple times, The King’s quotes regarding the country are inscribed on the forefoots mudguard reading, “The passion for basketball in the Philippines is incredible,” in royal blue and, “I look forward to returning to Manila again,” in bright red.

The Nike LeBron 19 Low “Beyond the Seas” collab will be available in all TITAN stores, TITAN22.COM and the TITAN App on September 4th with additional releases appearing on select accounts around the globe including SNKRS and the Philippines NBA Store just a few days later on the 8th. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair below that were announced on TITAN’s Instagram page.

For more in the Nike Basketball wheelhouse, Nikola Jokic’s preferred Nike Hyperdunk X is returning in Denver Nuggets colors.
