Despite debuting in 1985. the Air Jordan 1 Low remains fresh. Good design has a tendency of prevailing, but the late Peter Moore’s iconic creation has lasted the test of time via strategic collaborations, compelling narratives and stylish experimentation.
Recently, the model’s Craft iteration – which takes on an “inside-out” aesthetic and “do-it-yourself” build – emerged covered in shades of navy across its canvas, suede and leather panels. Patent leather joins the mix via the toe box and profile swooshes, with both components also opting for a build that deviates from the Air Jordan 1‘s original blueprint. Branding on the tongue and heel takes on modern specifications as “Wings” insignias on latter sit below an exposed foam collar. Underfoot, made-for-basketball sole units keep things simple, but in line with the remainder of the shoe with their off-white midsole and light grey tread. To further inject personality into the eyebrow-raising take on #23’s first signature sneaker, Team Jumpman applies a reflective finish to swaths along the tongue, logos on the sock-liner and tabs on the spine.
