Jovani Hernandez Samuel Ross has made a name for himself in the fashion world via A-COLD-WALL*, but he’s won over sneaker enthusiasts with his NIKE, Inc. collaborations over the last handful of years. As a follow-up to his brand’s launch of the Converse Aeon Active CX and Sponge Crater CX silhouette, Ross has reimagined two pairs of the iconic Chuck 70.
Rooted in avant-garde design cues, the upcoming duo boasts uniform arrangements across most of their construction, with “Pavement” and “Silver Birch” divvying up Converse’s mid-top silhouette. Ross’ future-thinking reinterpretation keeps the Chuck Taylor’s DNA intact while also pushing the boundaries of what the shoe is by way of reflective film print at the profiles and alphanumeric branding along the foxing. Contrasting tongues and pull tabs at the spine further differentiate A-COLD-WALL*’s work for the “One Star Brand,” as does the semi-translucent outsole underfoot.
