Jared Ebanks For the past half decade Donovan Mitchell has proudly resided as the League’s friendly neighborhood Spida, swinging into each city – now with the Cleveland Cavaliers – and tying up opponents in a flash. While anticipation grows feverishly for the first trailer to Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, Mitchell and the team at adidas have cooked up an ensuing collaborative collection ahead of the sequel’s premier next June.
Having already proven his vast comic book knowledge through colorways inspired by the “Iron Spider”, “Symbiote Spider-Man” and “Stealth Suit”, the soon to be released GS quartet of D.O.N. Issue #4’s pay homage to the suits of the films four main characters – Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Gwen and Spider-Punk.
Utilizing a jet-black and crimson pairing to signal Miles’ spray-painted suit, Donovan’s own Spida insignia renders an enlarged proposition along the forefoot whereas the character’s insignia comes adorned along the upper tongue. Set to clash with Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man from the year 2099, Oscar Issac’s voiced character receives his own mock up via a red and “Bright Cyan” glossy finish, mirroring the latter builds placement of the Spidey symbols.
Best friends from across the multi-verse, Spider-Gwen coats her silhouette in a “Cloud White” and “Core Black” base accented by “Team Shock Pink” and baby blue hues while Spider-Punk’s “Vivid Red”, black and “Bold Blue” outfit remains disparate with its inclusion of faux metal spikes along the diagonal heel tab. Each silhouette proffers an identifying tribute along the aforementioned panel, with each character’s slightly differing spider symbols laying claim to the tongue tabs.
